Finger-Licking Chocolate Chip Pie

The infamous chocolate cravings are so intense that you might want to grab a quick bite. Studies have recently shown that consumption of pure cocoa (80%) in our diet can have significant health benefits.

Flavonoids and antioxidants present in cocoa have anti-ageing properties. Here is a quick recipe of Eggless chocolate cake that can be made at home without using an oven! The beauty of this recipe is that it is very simple and one can use available basic ingredients found in the kitchen to make a tasty cake like this. For a small cake you would need:

Eggless Chocolate Chip Pie With Nuts and Berries

  • Ingredients

  • 2 Table spoons of cocoa powder.
  • ½ cup of hot water.
  • 1 ½ cup of salt.
  • 1 cup of all purpose refined flour.
  • 2Table spoons of corn flour.
  • 1Teaspoon of baking powder.
  • 2 Table spoons of cocoa powder.
  • ¼ cup of butter .
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar.
  • ½ cup of condensed milk.
  • ½ cup of chopped cashew nuts.
  • ½ cup of crushed almonds.
  • ½ cup of chopped hazelnuts.
  • Process

Take ½ cup of hot water in a bowl and mix 2 table spoons of dark cocoa powder. Mix well the mixture to avoid any lumps. Keep it aside to set. Take a clean pressure cooker and add 1 ½ cup of salt , spread the salt well with a spatula, once it is evenly spread put a wire stand on it.

Place the cooker on a low flame with the lid closed. This will help the cake container to sit and bake in appropriate heat.

  • Preparing The Cake Batter

Take a large bowl and a sieve. Gather all the powder ingredients to begin with batter preparation. Sift 1 cup of all purpose refined flour, 2 table spoons of corn flour, and 1 tea spoon of baking powder.

This step ensures that there are no lumps in the mixture. Keep the sifted ingredients aside. Take another bowl to mix ¼ of butter with ¼ cup of powdered sugar, give it a good whisk for about a minute.

Next pour ½ cup of condensed milk to the whisked mixture and continue whisking until it’s fluffy. Now, add half of the sifted powders to the fluffy batter that was prepared earlier.

Take all the nuts and berries to add to this batter one by one. Save some of the nuts for garnishing on top. With the help of a big spatula stir all the ingredients in the batter to check any air bubble.

Once thoroughly mixed add the remaining part of the sifted powder mix from the other bowl. To finish the batter give it a nice whisk for about 1 minute.

  • Bake The Cake

Now that the batter is ready to be baked, take a 7”cake container or any utensil that fits the bill. Clean the bottom and cover it with butter paper. Slowly pour in the cake batter in the cake tin.

Sprinkle remaining nuts and berries and place it in the pressure cooker .Close the lid and bake it on low-medium flame for 35 minutes. Insert a toothpick or a spoon to check if it’s done, if the toothpick comes out clean, your cake is ready to eat. Serve it cold or hot as per your choice.
